Background on Summer camp selection:
The troop committee selected next year’s camp according to these criteria:
- give the scouts a chance to experience a different camp every year (no repeats in five years)
- select camps with a different emphasis (this year was mountains, next year will add water activities at Shaver lake)
- pick a camp that has below-average cost
- pick a camp that is not local to give folks to experience a new environment.
- pick a camp that promises a good merit badge program but also allows the kids to pick a lot of additional fun activities.
Camp Chawanakee is a great match and will be a real treat for the scouts.
